@ Jennifer: I'm on it.

@ Alisha: They exist. Because I'm more of an abstract thinker, I also tend to be a little more ... flighty. Yes, that's the word. I'm not concerned with clutter so long as I can teach. Everything else is whatever.

@ MDC: Buck New Year's Resolutions. Start now. And as far as the schedule, I'd rather that only because it helps me stay away from the computer. Plus, I get to go to other blogs if I'm not writing my own. That's just me.

@ Frum: At first, it didn't occur to me either, but then it happened. Whoops. And the more I keep posts in my head, the more I lose them. And I missed some reallllllly good ones.

@ Shelly: Religion is something that I won't be able to escape because it pervades my existence, but more on that later. And as far as the balance of ed / personal blogs, it comes with almost 5 years of practice. Ooohhmmmm ...

Nice 7, Jose! It's great the way you strike just the right balance between educational/informative and personal stuff on your blog. Just perfect. It's something I tend to struggle with...

I never have any posts in "reserve". I try but then I lose interest or just plain forget. It's ok though, if all else fails I can always find inspiration on the London Underground - a veritable treasure trove of the weird and the (not so) wonderful! And you know I'm feeling you as per religious issues... My mum goes to church every Sunday and I know she would love it if I were to join her once in a while but I'm just too selfish to fake the funk. Or have too much personal integrity. Can't figure out which. Anyway the days of me kneeling in front of symbols I find reprehensible and oppressive are long gone...

Nice meme! It never occurred to me that you write on fixed days. I don't keep a stock of blog posts in case I don't have inspiration to day, but I do keep writing blog posts inside my head. I guess that's a way to deal with life as it happens.

Jose,

I can relate to number 3. I have a few on reserve too. Sometimes I run into a brick wall and can't think of a thing to post!

I wish I could operate my blog on a schedule. So far I just post every day, maybe I'll consider changing that in 2008. (Oh no was that a New Year's resolution!?) Lol

Thanks

"I’m far too unstructured to care much about any of it. "

An "unstructured" math teacher - never met one of those :) Sounds like an oxymoron to me!

I much like your views here!

And have you read the African writer, Dambudzo Marechera, before? -- or are you, at my injunction, only just about to??

@ Tom: My vocabulary will certainly get better as I get primed for the rest of the school year.

@ NYC Educator: I feel like I told you I was. In any case, there's nothing lowly about an English teacher. Just like a math teacher who writes poetry and English lesson plans, there have to be English teachers who are good at the maths so to speak. Thanks nonetheless.

I suspected you were a math teacher when I read your comment on my blog today. Now that you've confirmed it I have to say I'm shocked. I've never heard of a math teacher who could write poetry before. It seems like fodder for the Guiness Book of World Records.

By the way, I, a lowly English teacher, can also calculate tips and stuff. I don't like to brag, but I happen to be a high school graduate.

This is the first time I have see the word "cabal" (#7. above) used in relation to Mr. Bush. It is an entire appropriate use of the term here.
