[...] While I’ve silently and not-so-silently cheered you on as a great example of a man, and even as a politician, I also have so many concerns about the direction (or lack thereof) that this country has headed in, I just have to put things out there. For instance, in the first week of school, I showed the video of you giving a speech to school children about the importance of education and for America’s kids to do well in school. I appreciated the gesture, as these sorts of open demonstrations of care rarely happened over the last decade or so. Then, I’m also nagged by the idea that Arne Duncan, Secretary of Education, as your representative for the top education chair in the country and thus, an extension of you, wants to keep pushing a reform agenda that corporatizes our public schools and asks already-cash-strapped states to develop reforms that reflect this more corporate view of public education … or else.
Thank you both. Ann, maybe it will reach Obama's ear someday. Until it does, I'll keep writing.

Yobachi, this health care situation is the perfect example. At first, it's "we're going with full-on health care." Then, because of the little but loud backlash, it's "OK, maybe not now." Then it's, "OK, we'll do it in pieces so we can get the bill through without a single vote from anyone in the Senate except in the committees." Then it's, "But we need NEED the Republican representation." Now, it's, "Finally, it's been passed through Finance Committee. Let's go full on with it."

Much ado about ... something that could have taken less than 1/2 that. Just saying. I know it's a difficult thing, but still.

I responded at face book, but I'll leve my comment here too:

Nicely written piece Jose; but can you elaborate some specific points in regards to this: "Why do we have conflicting reports about the state of every and anything regarding you, even as they keep changing, even from your own people?"

You have a knack for speaking what I am thinking! I am sure that we are not alone. From your mouth to Obama's ears. Thanks for this, for saying so well what needs to be said, and for saying it in such a graceful way.
