A few notes:

  • I’m one of Black Web 2.0’s Peeps of the Web! Check the interview for yourself (and to those who commented on the interview, I appreciate it). Please leave comments there as well. Here’s an excerpt:

BlackWeb2.0: You mentioned before you are a part of a movement in education that uses blogs as professional development, I had no idea this existed, can you tell us more about that?

Jose: Yeah. Many teachers who we see blogging these days, including me, have used their blogs as a sort of professional development where they’re reflecting on their profession, providing resources for other teachers, and even offering up extended lesson plans to their fellow teachers. For instance, when I have a question about pedagogy, I have a clique of math teachers who I can turn to, or English teachers, or social studies teachers. Some of them have inspired me to start using a class blog and maybe even replace the journals we use in class and get them to blog their thoughts about math material.

  • Dr. Miracles’ site may not be spectacular, but their Flash intro cracked me the hell up. (thanks _huny)
  • Syracuse University basketball fans! You ever get so hungry in the morning, it made you wanna grab Carmelo Anthony by the (now defunct) braids? Tackle Donovan McNabb? Tell Mike Hopkins off for no apparent reason? Well here’s your cereal!!!
  • Another case of “Just because Obama said so“: “ … Now researchers have documented what they call an Obama effect, showing that a performance gap between African-Americans and whites on a 20-question test administered before Mr. Obama’s nomination all but disappeared when the exam was administered after his acceptance speech and again after the presidential election.” Courtesy of the NY Times

And yes, thanks to those of you who offered your condolences and well-wishes. I honestly appreciate it. Couldn’t have made it through the week without many of those kind words.

Jose, who has tried to kick it up a notch production-wise …
