Welcome to my website, home of the Jose Vilson. I've been called many a name: teacher, artist, provocateur, poet, friend, brother, and a few choice words I can't quite mention in this space. I hope this space provides you with a little insight about me nonetheless.

Use the scroll bar above to get to my freshest and newest material.

"Writer Legend" © 2007 Jose Vilson

I'm sitting at the small table
In the bastion of corporate coffee consolidation
Looking up at Whitman, Joyce, and Hughes
Wondering if somewhere in that mural,
They might make an extra wall for my fat ass
A writer trusts his organization of words
To illuminate and resonate in its own worth
But times of concentrated capitalism make it
Imperative for free writers / artists
To hustle their arrangements in methods that
Once worked for authors already logged in the minds of the American literati
So creativity comes sparingly
Ingenuity incited separately
from the artist,
Irrespective to what he/she wants to do
And as I look at these pillars of mostly male scribes
I wonder if I could find the letter sequence
That will decode the secret to eternity ...
