  1. THANK YOU for the link to the Ebony article! I watched the speech and heard him talk about fatherhood and immediately bristled. After seeing first-hand (through my husband) how difficult it is for a hard-working, loving, kind Black man to stay involved in his son’s life when he is not with his son’s mother, I am TIRED of hearing men blamed. Between the Prison-Industrial Complex and the way that child support laws are written so that men must pay to see their kids and just the general bias against fathers, it is disingenuous at best to claim that men somehow don’t WANT to be a part of their children’s lives.
